Professional development

Each year SWACE sponsors one-day professional development workshops throughout the region. Some workshops are geared specifically for employer participants and others for college participants; however, most are appropriate for both.  Click here to view upcoming Professional Development events.

Annual conference

SWACE’s Annual Conference features well known speakers who examine key issues in our profession. Typically, a conference uses a variety of program formats (lectures, workshops, group and panel discussions) to disseminate information to participants. Time is provided for informal exchange of ideas and information.  Click here to view more Conference information.

Information

SWACE offers three main sources of information:

  • SWACE Newsletter - The official newsletter of SWACE is published quarterly with news and articles designed to keep the membership apprised on matters of importance and mutual interest. Current Newsletters
  • Research Findings - Periodically, the Research Committee initiates, evaluates and disseminates research within the scope of professional recruitment, employment and career planning activities.
  • Membership Directory - Each year, a membership directory is published listing members, officers, bylaws and other information pertinent to the association.

Advisory consultations

Upon request, the Professional Development Committee will form a team of seasoned employer and college practitioners to consult, evaluate and make recommendations to both college and employer organizations. The only fee is the reimbursement of actual expenses incurred by the advisory team.
